After David left the gang in Marseille, Max, Jamie and Hanno arrive in Barcelona, become victims of a pickpocket and have their Defender towed.

Only one hour of sleep the night before, only three guys instead of four, Hanno, Max and Jamie arrive in Barcelona on a late Sunday afternoon. Half of their journey is now over and they've been very lucky so far with earning money, finding places to sleep and meeting new people. That is about to change in Barcelona though.

The first person they speak to upon arriving in Spain shows Jamie a little dance and then runs – with Jamie’s wallet. By pure coincidence Hanno happens to tape this entire incident and the police station is more or less right across the street. Of course the police tell them that they've filed a report, but that they shouldn’t get their hopes up, even with the evidence. On the way back to the car, who do they bump into? The pickpocket. Unbelievable!

They show him the film, tell him that they have already been to the police, make him return all the money and even the wallet itself. Up until this point the story is one of great luck and unimaginable karma, but the pickpocket is quite quick himself. He demands that the video of him stealing Jamie’s wallet is deleted, otherwise he wouldn’t lead the guys to the bin where he had disposed of the wallet, nor return the money.

Everything inside of the three is screaming “NOOOOOOOOOOO!”, but apparently by that time it was ten pickpocket friends against our three boys and they have to delete the material. Naturally there’ll never be a next time, but just in case: next time, delete another file! Or quickly remove the battery, or just run! The agitation is calmed with a beer and some tapas and the night is spent on the Defender.

As a lovely surprise Max’s girlfriend Sophie comes over from Munich to Barcelona the next day. She organizes a 4 star hotel to celebrate his 24th birthday. Max and Sophie had been a couple for two months before he left and luckily he can finally have a shower in the hotel room before spending time with Sophie!

The two leftovers Jamie and Hanno take a day off to relax for once. A little walk on Las Ramblas looking for a birthday present for Max and then, same old story – finding a place for the Defender in the city to sleep on top. For the first time in almost 24 days, Hanno and Jamie are on their own and have a good night’s sleep in the city centre of Barcelona, right at the City Beaches.

With the Barcelona sun on their faces, sand on their feet and seasalt on their skin, Jamie & Hanno enjoy a beautiful sun bath at “playa Icaria” a beach in Barcelona. With no pressure of earning money today, they decide to take it easy. They visit an internet café to update their facebook status and look for places to stay for the forthcoming nights, but it proves to be an expensive visit.

On their way back to the car to pick up Max’s birthday present, which they ordered the night before a nightmare scenario becomes reality – THE DEFENDER HAS BEEN TOWED.

In the bits of Spanish that they can decifer, they find out where the Defender is being held. With their last money Hanno and Jamie take a cab and drive to the deposit area for towed cars in Barcelona. To get the Defender back they have to pay almost €200, which equates to 20 not sold CDs or 15 not sold t-shirts. And besides that, it’s Max’s car and it’s his birthday.

Hanno finally calls him to tell him the bloody fairytale. Two hours later, Max & Sophie arrive and as if destiny is on their side, Sophie offers to pay the amount. At least they have the Defender back, but from now on they have to work harder and harder. Starting basically from the beginning, 2500 km away from Berlin on day 24 of 39.
