Human limpet David Lama blogs about a bad weekend in Barcelona caused by a great time freeclimbing in Kyrgyztan.
Hi guys,
Last weekend didn’t exactly go perfectly for me. I failed to qualify for the Lead World Cup round in Barcelona, the first time that’s happened in my career. Very annoying! But there was a reason for it. After a three-week expedition in Kyrgyztan, I didn’t have the energy for a World Cup event – and the competition is hard.
Whatever… I will come back stronger to the next contest. If everything works out, Barcelona will be the result I strike out at the end of the season.
Now, I am back in Austria and very happy to be home for the first time in weeks! I don’t really get homesick, but do I miss my family and friends a lot – and Austrian food, like sugared pancakes with raisins. Delicious…
In two weeks’ time, the World Cup continues in Imst, and this round being in Austria means I don’t have to travel very far! I am sure I will find my fitness again, and I will try to collect as many points as possible.
By the way, I will publish the best pics and info about my Kyrgyztan trip soon. Keep a lookout for them!
All the best
David
