The Italian b-boy Mauro Peruzzi, known as Cico, is one of the most renowned b-boys in the world and recently visited Chile for the Red Bull BC One All Star event. This included a workshop with the b-boys in Santiago de Chile and a show in the discotheque El Huevo in Valparaíso city, together with 6 of the best Chilean b-boy crews.
Known as the “Energy Prince”, Cico is a specialist in Power moves: the most dynamic of the b-boy's dances. He is one of the seven breakdance stars that compose the Red Bull BC One All Star, a group of b-boys that travel around the world to transmit energy and art with their dance. This time Cico visited Chile and the Italian took full advantage of his trip. On Friday he visited the Communication Building in the University Diego Portales in Santiago de Chile and performed in front of 200 students. Right after this he organized a workshop with some of the most talented b-boys in Chile in the bar discotheque 'Gran Central'. “The Breakdance is a way to express and I see a lot of potential in Chile. They just need to focus and to practice to give the best that they have. I see a lot of different b-boy styles in Chile and I like it,” said Cico after the workshop.
His visit was sealed with gold when he arrived to Valparaiso, a beautiful city in the Chilean coast which is of big importance to the local b-boy scene. “This city had a special energy,” he commented at his arrival. And he is right; Valparaiso is considered the Chilean city with the best b-boys in the country and also the most original ones. On that Saturday the 26-year-old Italian showed his best power moves in the discotheque El Huevo in Valparaíso. During one hour he and six of the best local b-boy crews showed the crowd different styles of dancing and the most amazing moves. The rapper Seo2 (ex Makiza) gave some extra beats to the night with his best songs. Definitively the most amazing move of the night was Cico´s famous “99” move, in which he spins several times supporting himself only in one arm. The crowd was impressed and happy.
“Valparaíso is beautiful, thanks for the support. I think breadkdancing is very popular in Chile and that makes me happy. Keep going,” said Cico after the show.
