In his latest blog, Dani Pedrosa explains how his victory in Japan on Sunday was the deserved result of patient work from both himself and his Honda team.

Hello!

Today I write as a very happy man after the victory we achieved in the Japanese GP last weekend. Finally getting a win is a very enjoyable reward for all the months of work in which we had almost been at the top of our game but not quite enough to get to the top step of the podium. Now it's time to savour a win that also happened to be the 400th Spanish victory in motorcycling, which is a great honour for me.

This was in spite of not starting the race well. It took me a few laps to get good pace on the track, but I was finding it more and more comfortable, and this was reflected in the laptimes we were posting. It was definitely a GP which underlined the importance of fighting for victory until the end. In racing, you never know what will happen, and we must be consistent to achieve our goals.

'It is imperative to try to recover my strength as much as possible'

We returned home to rest until Wednesday, then it will be back to normal training pace. Although we have no race this week, Australia is just around the corner and we’ll be giving 100 per cent to have a good GP. The goal remains to finish the final World Championship races and we’ll be doing all we can to win them like last weekend.

In these last few weeks, rest and physical preparation have been even more important, what with the long journeys we have to do. You could say that it’s 'lost time' when you’re stuck on long-distance flights, so therefore it is imperative to try to recover my strength as much as possible to reach top form for the GP of Australia.

Best wishes!

Dani
