Yeah, Red Bull gives you wings but Formula 1 fame? No matter how ugly you are – looking at you Julian Wilson and Sally Fitzgibbons – Red Bull is giving fans the opportunity to get their mug shots on Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel’s Renaults at the British Grand Prix.
All in the name of the Wings for Life charity, in support of finding a cure for spinal chord injuries, 25,000 fans have the unique opportunity to have their faces plastered all over the RB8s’ livery for just a AU$20 donation to Wings for Life.
F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone is involved, world champions Alain prost and Damon Hill, too. And if that’s not inspiration enough to become part of it, knowing you at least won’t be the most average face on the Renaults, then nothing is – except doing your part for a good cause and being a part of history. It doesn’t even have to be your face – it could be your mate’s, your pet guinea pig’s.
And it’s easier than finding a hipster in Bondi. Go to www.facesforcharity.com , upload a photo, donate the cash and consider yourself part of Mark Webber’s front wing. And just cause, Red Bull will match every donation. Entries close on June 17, so stop reading and enter now.
“I hope as many people as possible take part in this awesome event,” Mark Webber said.
“Whoever you want to upload onto our cars - your mum, your dog - it doesn’t matter just upload a photo now and join us.”
The Wings for Life foundation was set up in 2004 by former Austrian Motocross rider Heinz Kinigadner, whose son was crippled in a motocross accident.
