LittleBigPlanet was one of the most successful games on the Playstation 3, so for good reason a sequel has hit our shelves! Sack boy returns in Little Big Planet 2 as that bag of beans who grapples and jumps through an oddity of various obstacles to complete levels....How many levels?

Well, this is the part that’s pretty cool – anyone can upload their very own level. It’s not hard, depending on how creative you want to get. Over 3.3 MILLION people have uploaded their own levels, making the game play seemingly endless. Expect new toys and features – but not a focus on more advanced graphics – they’ve stayed pretty consistent. Not that this is a bad thing!

For the games release on 20 January, Sony Australia put the call out to 3 gamers/bloggers/twitter fiends to make their very own levels and document the process. The outcome? Very funny times with quarantined-turn-webisode genius The Fully Sick Rapper, Channel [V]’s follicle-accelerated Danny Clayton and youtube geek guru Blunty 3000. I had a chat with the boys about their adventures with Sackboy.

 LBP2 interview

1. You've been chosen to create your own level in LittleBigPlanet2 (LBP2) - what can we expect?
Danny: Fire filled spike pits, air time, grappling hook swinging of skyscrapers, Daft Punk and a friendly zombie.
Blunty: my level is all about the experience of creating a YouTube video, from setting up the equipment, through the performance, production, edit upload and experiencing the joy of fans and the fun of nuking annoying haters & trolls
Fully Sick Rapper (FSR): Quarantine madness. I have re-created a little escape from Quarantine for Sackboy. He will have to grab, throw and swing his way out of the hospital, while alarms and sirens go off warning little Sackbot scientists of the impending outbreak!

2. What do you think about fellow competition?
Danny: One of the first things I saw Nate create was a giant game version of his own head and blow it up.  Christiaan has been spending too much time playing with his sack...  boy.  I think they are both loons and will definitely make some crazy LBP levels.
Blunty: I love that we've all gone in and created levels that are utterly unique to who we are and what we've experienced, the concept of Christiaan's is awesome, and the rock concert aesthetic of Danny's is fun, and all of our levels have interestingly unique gameplay concepts. It's been fascinating to see it unfold.
FSR: I think Danny is great looking, and that Nate is a nice guy.... Oh. And that they are going down, down, down. Nate and Danny are going down (*Puts down pom-poms). I'm actually quite thankful to Danny, for re-creating an awesome night out that I can't remember, so that I can re-live the Daft Punk concert of 2007 over and over again as my own little sack person. And as for Nate, I can't wait to make little sack Youtube Videos, and smash his level to pieces!!

3. What gives you the upper edge on them?
Danny: I once was sucked into my computer back in the 80's where i had to battle evil computer programs on motorcycles made from light.  Since my escape i have had a profound understand of how video games work.
FSR: My Jedi forces, and the fact that I have the reflexes of a goose. I mean a mongoose. And the vocabulary of a... something.

4. What was your favourite tool/s to use while creating your level?
Danny: The Sackbot tool is the most fun, being able to make a horde of little AI characters is amazing. You can create little critters to chase your sackbot like a horde of zombies or maybe even overly affectionate ex girlfriends
Blunty: Not as "sexy" but very powerful are the logic circuits, behaviour modifiers and item tagging tools, they're quite intuitive, but when you really start combining them suddenly you've got a stunning amount of power at hand.
FSR: I am all about Grabinating. Who doesn't like to grab? COME HERE SO I CAN GRAB YOU!!

5. How long did it take you to make?
Danny: As long as it takes a Sackbot to do up it's shoelaces.
Blunty: Concept to final product was about a month
FSR: It took 6 and half months of real life experience in hospital, followed closely by hours of strategising, slaving over extensive paperwork, and drinking red cordial... as well as telling a level designer exactly what to do, and to hurry up with it.

6. What are the links to your vids that you've put up?
Danny: You can check out my Sackboy making goodness at my youtube channel. www.youtube.com/user/DannyClayton
Blunty: The first one is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3Xt1UBLSzE There's another vid in this series coming that will be on my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Blunty3000
FSR: Here is the Sackboy song:

An added question to The Fully Sick Rapper if you’ve just watched his hilarious video above – who the hell thought of the Sackboy dance?
FSR: I love Sackboy and think he's so cute, that dancing should be the only thing he's allowed to do. Seriously, everyone should have a Sackslave that stands in the corner of their homes and just dances. Me and Sackboy thought of the dance. Me being me, and Sackboy being my brother in a giant Sacksuit.
