Russ Henshaw: Red Bull PlayStreets Red Bull Photofiles

RB: Russ! Finally back on the powder! What was happening up at Perisher?
RH: I was helping out with the Perisher Night Slopestyle Series. Super cool, fun, relaxed event that is worth checking out!

RB: Must have been a little bittersweet considering you couldn't actually take part... Sort of like having salt rubbed into your wounds?
RH: Yeah, it sucked! But I was fortunate enough to spend the previous nights helping build the course, which was fun and meant I was still kind of involved. I was basically helping the kids and played a role in the course construction and design.

RB: Despite the fact you were watching on all tied up inside, what was
the highlight?
RH: I think it was probably open men's slopestyle, Boen Furgurson. He had a pretty cool run that was really exciting to watch. Other than
that the highlight was probably hearing the good feedback about the course design.

RB: You spot any new competition for you for the Olympics?
RH: There is definitely some upcoming talent in Australia and it will be interesting to see where all these people take it.

RB: Surely there must have been some stacks up there. We pray no-one hurt themselves badly, but was there any carnage? Any little hiccups?
RH: Yeah of course there was! People always have little crashes in the comps which aren't bad but there were a few bigger crashes this time! But luckily they were OK.

RB: There must have been some benefits to not competing... any?
RH: The benefit is I didn't have to plan a run! I could relax and actually enjoy the show!

RB: What else did you get up to up on the mountain? Any other skiers of note around?
RH: I did a few interviews with Channel 9 and Channel 10 and I was also on The Morning Show earlier that day. It was pretty sweet.

RB: How's the leg coming, brother?
RH: It's going really well. I'm ahead of the curve in regards to recovery and I'm feeling awesome

RB: When can we expect to see you back in action? Have you pencilled in an event or date?
RH: I am hoping to be back on snow in November to get my legs back under me and then my first event I would like to do is the Dew Tour in December.

RB: Any other exciting stuff coming up?
RH: Nah, haha. Just more gym time and rehab!
