The next generation of BMX riders took to the course, located in Luke’s own backyard and is a replica of the 2008 Beijing Olympics track, over three days to help them get ready for the next level of riding which is the elite category.

The young riders aged 14 to 16 came through a tough selection process from around Australia and some of them are already world or Australian champions in their junior categories.

The 3-day coaching clinic included talks on sports psychology, sports marketing, nutrition and training. The rider also did a lot of track work to help build their start gate and sprint techniques.

On Sunday, the 18 selected riders taking part in the clinic were joined on the course by more juniors in the same age categories for the open track day. The riders spent the morning practising theirs starts and learning the track before the racing started in the early afternoon.
