As pre-season testing for Moto2 and MotoGP comes to an end, Marc Márquez starts to look forward to his long-awaited debut in Qatar.
Hello everyone
I know that, like me, you’re eager for the championship to begin. Every second that passes brings us closer to the start and I have an overwhelming desire to get going! It’s all about my Moto2 debut now and I'm looking forward to getting back into a rhythm as we travel the world, starting with Qatar, where I’ll finally get to be with my team in the race paddock… finally, after all the build-up!
In addition to commitments with my sponsors, I've been at home these last few days, working on my fitness ahead of the start of the World Championship, and relaxing so I can be as focused as possible before travelling with the team to Losail.
I have very clear goals earmarked by the team for the start of the season – to finish races, cover the miles and, above all, be putting the finishing touches on how the bike feels – and the only priority I have is to meet those.
I have no previous experience of Losail, so concentration and hard work with the team will be even more important for this first race in Qatar.
Now comes the moment of truth, so I want you to know how very grateful I am for all the support and messages of encouragement that you give me. I know you are cheering for me at all times and, like me, you have really looked forward to it all starting.
I want to dedicate my last thought on today's blog to Japan and its people. As you all know, what has happened there has been devastating, and we have a large number of Japanese involvement in the World Championship, with Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and so on… so to all of them and their compatriots I want to send a message of encouragement at this very hard time. I am sure that our thoughts will be with them in Qatar.
'¡Un abrazo para todos!'
Marc
