Thomas Morgenstern's been having the kind of travel issues that will be familiar to all during his journey to this weekend's FIS Ski Jumping event in Finland as he reveals in his latest blog.
Hi guys!
My first short report from Finland: Unfortunately the start wasn’t very good. At the last minute our flight from Klagenfurt to Munich was cancelled due to technical problems. So we had to reschedule our flights – a very complicated procedure!
Finally we flew from Klagenfurt to Vienna, Munich and Helsinki. On my loooooooong journey, I tried to kill time by reading. Once there, only a part of my luggage arrived – of course my skis went missing!
Five minutes before the start of training today, the skis finally arrived in a taxi from the airport. It was worth it, because I did the best jump with 132 metres in training! The conditions have been very difficult and changing all the time, so the second heat was cancelled. I didn’t join the qualification either.
Now I’m looking forward to the team competition tomorrow. Please cross your fingers for us! Best wishes from Lahti!
Yours,
Thomas
