After the huge success of the 2010 World Series, high diving’s elite competition returns with the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2011.
Four brand new stops, including the Series opener in Chile and the Series decider in the Ukraine, highlight a bumper programme which includes night-time competition for the first time.
The Series kicks off in Rapa Nui (CL) on March 12, returns to the Sacred Cenote on the Yucatán Peninsula (MEX) on April 10, before flying across to Europe to Lake Vouliagmeni in Athens (GR) – the venue where 2009 champion Orlando Duque was crowned.
Gary Hunt began his march to the 2010 title at this next stop but a familiar setting will be seen in a totally different light as the first floodlit competition in Red Bull Cliff Diving history will take place in La Rochelle (FRA) at the Series’ midway point in June before the competitors travel to Lake Garda to scale the Scaliger Castle in Malcesine (ITA) on July 24.
Next stop will be the USA in August (stay tuned for an imminent announcement of the details) and the third season of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series will conclude at Yalta (UKR) on September 4.
