You could have been mistaken for thinking the Oscars had come to Greece last week as the Athens College Theatre played host to the Red Bull Remake Awards.
The awards night was the culmination of a three-month competition which saw 315 competitors from 45 teams remake their favourite Red Bull adverts. These were then uploaded to RedBullRemake.gr before being split into nine categories.
From over 1.8m hits on the website and over 700,000 page views, 60 videos were submitted for the awards. The videos were then scrutinised by a panel of five judges – including two Greek actors, a film critic, a journalist and a film director.
750 people packed into the Athens College Theatre to witness the nine awards being handed out. The top prize – the Best Movie Award – went to The Creatures who made a remake of the Red Bull ‘Moon Landing’ campaign.
