Forget the red carpet and the obscure designer dresses, the only thing that could have made this premiere any more fun was monkeys on unicycles.  But would you expect anything less from us and the man of the moment Julian 'horatio' Wilson? Ok, we might have made that middle name up but the only thing more unbelievable than that repellent of a nickname was the kid's freakish maneuvers in his new flick, Scratching The Surface. More than 300 celebrities, athletes, fans and frothers packed Sydney's Sun Studios for the premiere of Julian's self produced film,  including league legend Andrew Johns , legendary cult figure Tom Carroll, world number two female surfer Sally Fitzgibbons and TV star Justin Melvey.

Starting off like one of Australia's funnniest home videos with cheeky cameos from bros Bart and Seb and some retro footage of Julian as a greasy grommet, the movie soon kicked into overdrive with some hardcore carving that made the SAW films look amateur.  The boys hollered and the girls freaked - nothing the ever humble JW ain't used to."It was insane - so crowded I couldn't get to the bar. But that's a good thing," Jules laughed. "The idea of making a movie has been on my mind forever and to finally do it with Red Bull and Quiksilver is just awesome." I wanted to make it pretty light hearted, colourful and fun and let people have a bit of a laugh at it. I couldn't be more pumped. It's a dream come true and for the Red Bull and Quiksilver guys and other sponsors to help me realize it is so cool." Julian posed for more photos than Megan Gale at fashion week before the wheels on the bus went round and round and the crowd kicked on to the after party in Sydney's Kings Cross. Two thumbs up.
