The state capitals aren’t the only ones having fun this festival season – Foreshore makes sure the party people of Canberra are well looked after as well. Now in its sixth year of award-winning live music, DJ stages and summer celebrations with friends, Foreshore has moved back to its traditional Commonwealth Park home, encompassing Stage 88, Regatta Point and the lush surrounds.

Not sure who you should be seeing when Saturday 24 November rolls around? Red Bull HQ have run the rule over the line-up and found the five un-missable acts – read on to the end to find out how you can get some awesome festival perks with Red Bull Wristband.

MAJOR LAZER
FROM: Los Angeles, USA
The brainchild of Diplo, party-rocking DJ supremo and the impresario behind the Mad Decent empire, Major Lazer now includes Jillionaire and Walshy Fire as part of the core collective. Pon De Floor was one of the biggest dancefloor smashers of 2009, and the previews of album number two have so far hinted at a move into even purer dancehall and reggae territory – though with Diplo at the helm, you never quite know what to expect.

360
FROM: Melbourne, Victoria
Over the past 12 months, 360 has taken his rule of social networking sites Facebook and Twitter into the real world on the back of his Falling & Flying album. It started with the summer single Boys Like You with its big chorus hook from Gossling in the tail end of 2011, and the hits have kept coming since. As have the platinum records from ARIA and a raft of sold out shows, so this is one set you’ll want to reserve an early spot for.

BASSNECTAR
FROM: San Francisco, USA
Bassnectar is the brainchild of Lorin Ashton. Spanning the spectrum of sonic style, his music covers every genre imaginable and smashes it all into a synthesis of intense, wobbling basslines and hypnotic soundscapes. His massive 2012 touring schedule began in Australia for the Big Day Out, and he’s since dropped the Vava Voom official album release on his own Amorphous Music label, and the Freestyle Mixtape and accompanying six-track EP.

FLUME
FROM: Sydney, Australia
If there’s a more hyped producer in Australia than 21-year-old Sydney-sider Flume, then please send them our way! The dreamy, wonky sounds of Sleepless and Holdin On have been all over the airwaves in 2012, and with his self-titled album just released, we think you’d better catch him while you can – he could be spending a fair bit of 2013 overseas.

RÜFÜS
FROM: Sydney, Australia
Rüfüs have exceptional taste in electronic dance music, make an invigorating brand of indie-electro club tracks of their own, and have as many umlauts in their name as Mötley Crüe – what’s not to love? They’re also keeping the sacred art of live dance music, umm, alive, delivering the sounds of summery hits like This Summer with a full band line-up including a real live drummer. They’re a band purpose-built for festivals, which is why Homebake, Peats Ridge, Field Day, and Big Day Out have all come calling in recent times.
