After an exhausting, but hugely successful, Four Hills Tournament, ski jumper Thomas Morgenstern returns home for a special treat, before taking to the air once more...
Hi guys!
After a long competition, I have arrived back home in Seeboden again. I’ve enjoyed some special moments, with the crowning glory coming in Harrachov. It was my first ski flying victory and an amazing feeling. It’s like there's an invisible hand which lifts you up into the air and then you fly down for 200 metres. Now I finally know that I can also win a ski flying competition.
The next highlight was waiting for me at home: my parents invited me to their house for a very special type of re-energisation – a pizza, a nice energy boost for body and mind! Of course, this was an exception, on Tuesday and Wednesday, I will be out for more training again. On Wednesday evening I will hit the road to Salzburg and take off towards Sapporo, via Frankfurt and Tokyo. This will definitely be the longest journey of the season, nearly 24 hours in total. But Japan is always worth the trip, so I’m looking forward to the competitions there.
Talk to you soon,
Thomas
