One 'boy' in particular is her Dad who competed in the last Flugtag competition. Torey is hell bent on getting further than her old-man and perfecting a lighter landing. Sabotage could be on the cards, but it's a family affair with mum Sharon and brother rounding out the team.

- Damselflies are cousins to the dragonfly but apparently easier to build?!?!
- Alysia says she's the 'Damse' and she'll fly
A pub idea amongst a couple of mates will take this bunch of QLD folk to the skies, or so they hope. Armed with nothing more than some 2010 election signs and polyfoam glued together, team mates Alysia, Dave, Scott and Ian are hoping they have the right balance between the wings more than anything.
The Damselflies is a cousin to the Dragonfly... but easier to build, inspired by the brave few who have taken the 6 metre leap before them. Whilst the team consists of four engineers and an entomologist, none of them have the least bit of an idea regarding flight or fluid mechanics!
With little hope that their plane will fly, they are relying on their perfected dance routines to bring them over the line and score them some prizes!

They have actually taken their concept from a kids show called Avatar: The Last Airbender. Modeling their craft on one of the character's gliders, they want to bring the values of the show to light.
Team members Pete, Simon and Veronica are taking this competition very seriously with Veronica travelling to Hong Kong where she learnt the art of lashing bamboo. Let's hope this comes in handy as they attempt to bring home the glory and Stu the right to have his wedding wherever he damn pleases!

A band of designers themselves, watch out for Team Captain Jessica Leckie as Road Runner and her trio of Wile Coyotes. On a personal note, they are also hoping to cream team member Jasmin Gow's fiancee Stuart who is hoping to lead Team Avatar to victory.
Citing poking Voodoo Dolls of the opposing team as their secret weapon and hours of planning at the local pub, other team members Chris and Kristen can rest assure they will no doubt take the mantle for wholesome entertainment value.

- The craft has been constructed on site at the Coogee Bay Hotel
It's a bird...it's a plane...no - it's a giant schooner of beer! It would be a godsend to many Aussies if it were real, but this one is a makeshift Super Schooner from the team at Coogee Bay Hotel. Team captain, Saskia Valkema is the lucky one who stuck her hand up to be pushed off the platform in the giant schooner, hoping its Superman qualities will shine through in flight.
This creation has been a real team effort from a host of people at the hotel, but the team has General Manager, Tony Williams to thank for encouraging the idea. The craft wouldn't look as spiffy as it does today without the help of resident artist, Jessica Woolston and the very handy hotel maintenance team.

Black and yellow seem to be the colours of the moment with Group GSA entering the mix as a bunch of architects hoping to send their Bumblebee inspired aircraft over the line as the winning team.
The design has been modeled on the Gossamer Albatross design which was the first human powered craft capable of controlled and sustained flight. With that sort of pressure, who needs a plan? Luckily Tim and team mates Barbara, Kelly and Peter have Red Bull to give them wings.

Tadhq always wanted to be a part of Red Bull Flugtag and she jumped at the chance when she saw it advertised on TV earlier in the year. Hopefully the other team members Colm, Gerard and Tim have something else to celebrate when they sail the Endeavour for a photo finish.

Self confessed fans of The King and one time former colleagues of AMP, Hank Opdam and his team are emulating the spirit of Elvis by flying their Cadillac aircraft into the sunset. That's the plan at least.
Extendable wings are supposedly going to appear just before takeoff, with the help of team mates Mike Sacco, Ben Gamble and David Pearson's ultimate pelvic thrust. Falling into a state of 'Elvis Depression' after returning from a festival wearing nothing but their outfits for 2 days straight, the boys are hoping to relive their glory days - bare chests and all.
