Red Bull Manny Mania is searching across the globe for the most skilled amateur manual skateboarders in Australia and the World. If you can turn heads when you Manual, if you are a a two-wheel bandit, this is the competition for you.
The winner from the Australian national final will win a trip to compete in the World Final taking place on 20 August, 2011 in New York City
At stake for the amateur world finalists is one spot in the Red Bull Manny Mania Pro event, skating against the manual masters. Who will join the best this year? The contest will circumnavigate the globe to hunt for the hungriest skater hoping to turn small town dreams turn into big city reality.
When is it and who can enter?
In Australia, any amateur skateboarder can participate in any of the 5 qualifier rounds taking place around the country in April and May. The top three finishers from each qualifier round will win a spot in the Australian national final taking place in Melbourne on 21 May, 2011. What is Manny Mania?
Born from the mind of Red Bull USA skate pro Joey Brezinski, Red Bull Manny Mania has grown into one of the biggest global contests, while still balancing a relaxed vibe as it seeks to award the highest level of technical trickery on two wheels. Qualifiers and national finals will take place in 34 countries across 6 continents The series will culminate in two marquee events, the Red Bull Manny Mania World Final and the Red Bull Manny Mania Pro, taking place August 20-21 in New York City.
Will skaters from more well-known hot spots like Brazil and Australia go the distance, or will there be a surprise from the likes of Bosnia or Bulgaria? Only time and talent will tell who can flip a chance into some serious street cred, when the 2011 manual master is crowned.
