THE ART OF FLIGHT

If James Cameron were to make a snowboarding film, it would look just like this. With a budget usually reserved for Hollywood films, The Art of FLIGHT is as much a high definition viewing marvel as it is an intense snowboarding film.

To be released in Australian cinemas on October 13, the film features Winter X-Games gold medallist Travis Rice and his hand-picked accomplishes including, two-time Rider of the Year John Jackson, Olympic medallist Scotty Lago and Pat Moore.

The Art of FLIGHT seeks out un-touched terrain in the far reaches of the globe, redefining what is possible on a snowboard. The riders open up new mountain zones and approach explored mountains from completely unique angles in regions including Patagonia's Darwin Range, the Andes and Alaska's Tordrillo Range. And it's done so with outstanding visual effect. Just like Cameron's Avatar, this film is best experienced on the big screen.

Justin Timberlake got out to the US premiere in New York, but the real star quality of the film is in the state-of-the-art cinematography and of course, ground-breaking tricks in terrain even mountain goats dare not venture.

"Through the riders' full immersion into the making of this film, we are able to show in the truest way what it is like for us to travel to some of the most remote places on earth and search out the most dynamic terrain and conditions," says Rice.

"Our triumphs and tribulations are conveyed in this darker, more dramatic film. Throughout we walk a fine line between when to keep pushing it and when to pull back."

The film is the first collaboration between Red Bull Media House and Brain Farm Digital Cinema.
