Corey Bohan
Three-peat X-Games dirt champion, Red Bull Elevation 2006 winner and voted as the NORA CUP best Dirt Rider Cup three years in a row, Corey Bohan can be described as nothing less than the consummate dirt rider. His competition results are only surpassed by his incredible riding style and laid back attitude. Packing event winning big tricks (some of which are Bohan originals) alongside arguably the best dirt style on the planet, Corey will be a major player on the insane walls of the world’s first Dirt Pipe. Corey’s ability to ride and spin both ways almost seamlessly will see him at home in the pipe and quite possibly on top of the podium.Sergio Layos
Spanish Red Bull rider Sergio Layos brings full-on, red-blooded riding to the walls of the Dirt Pipe. His fluid, high-speed style has seen him blowing minds all over the world on a constant basis. A flick of any recent magazine or DVD will attest to this. While known for his competition runs that defy logic and trick trends, Sergio’s focus has always been on the riding in its purest form. And this usually entails the streets and literally any terrain you can imagine; the more unusual and varied the better. Expect the unexpected from Sergio on the street inspired sections of the Dirt Pipe and some blazing airs on the rest.Cam Pianta
Benalla born and bred, Cam Pianta is somewhat the local boy of the event. Without a doubt, the last year has seen him stamping his name on the Australian dirt scene with big, powerful riding that makes everyone stop and take note. A recent win at the Newtons Playground dirt event on Mt Panorama saw him unleash his latest addition to an already impressive repertoire; a massive no-handed front flip. This confidence boost will see Cam in good form for the Red Bull Dirt Pipe. Cam’s riding and good times vibe should see him continue his rise and rise in the Australian dirt ranks.Jaie Toohey
Jaie represents the next generation of Australian BMX riders. In a nutshell; hungry, insanely talented and seemingly unstoppable! Only turning ‘pro’ in the last year, Jaie’s rise into the pro ranks has been a somewhat fairy tale ride with some impressive results in the last 12 months. This includes his double up at the recent BMX Games with a big second place in mini ramp and third place in park against some of the world’s best, all of whom were his senior. Jaie’s youth, trick selection and ridiculously huge airs should see him stepping up once again in Mt Beauty, and with any luck, onto the podium.Chris ‘Danger’ O’Donnell
Fresh off a huge win at the 2008 BMX Games in mini ramp, Danger is known for his non-stop energy both on and off the bike and a seemingly bottomless bag of tricks. Inspired by the current crop of Australian pros that have been dominating around the world, Danger has had the right role models. But far from a star struck young rider, the last year has seen Danger not only ride alongside his heroes, but put them in check at a number of events. Chris O’Donnell is beyond a doubt the ‘new Danger’ come event day, and his new found maturity in competition should see him throw down a serious challenge to all.Brendan Jones
Brendan has been a consistent face on the Australian scene in park, dirt and on the streets of his hometown Sydney for what feels like forever. Known for throwing down big moves in his reinterpretation of parks, dirt jumps, or city architecture, Brendan’s riding style is as powerful as it is smooth. Able to adapt to any terrain, Brendan brings his race background to everything he rides, meaning warp speed or nothing. If there’s a line that hasn’t been done, count on Brendan to quietly go about shutting it down with a huge transfer or his signature clicked turndown. This adaptability and vision will see him shine on all facets of the pipe with a style that gets everyone who sees it stoked!Daniel ‘Mozzie’ Dunn
Tailwhipping his way to many a placing at both park and dirt events around the country, Mozzie has proved his versatility time and time again. Hailing from South Australia, Mozzie is another of the Aussie new gen, bringing with him many a big trick beyond the whip, all capable of placing him in the top echelon. Especially if he can keep his excitement in check! With the snow season approaching, his recent best trick winning (albeit nude) run antics at the BMX Games will probably not be repeated. However, count on Mozzie bringing an all out assault on the Mt Beauty soil...Niki Buckard
Queensland’s Niki Buckard could never be described as conservative. He rocks a balls out, all or nothing attitude to riding (and life) that has been known to either shine or go up in flames come a pressure run. With some of BMX’s newest and biggest tricks under his belt, Niki will be one to watch as he gets his head around this new twist in BMX dirt competition. Don’t be surprised to see Niki flying at low altitudes above the Red Bull Dirt Pipe quite possibly mid backflip tailwhip...Clint ‘The Colonel' Bensley
The Colonel is one of the few all-round riders left on these shores. Why ride just dirt, street or vert when you can ride it all being the simple answer. With this background, Clint is well equipped to tackle the 12-foot walls of dirt with street inspired wall rides and hips. Add to this an endless list of competition results which include wins in mini ramp at the BMX Games and you have one well-rounded rider with an almost uncanny knack of upsetting much bigger named riders. The Colonel is not one to be phased by either reputations or the size of the hits!
